Double Bass - CHRISTMAS In Style
The double bass, also known as the bass, is the largest bowed instrument in modern orchestras. The most common size is the 3/4 double bass, while 4/4 instruments are also used for orchestras and symphonies. The double bass can be played in two main ways: with a bow in the traditional German and French style or by plucking the strings in other genres of music. The double bass has four strings tuned in fourths (E1, A1, D, G), or sometimes five strings in symphony orchestras. Other tuning variants for this instrument include orchestral and solo tuning.
